At The Beach

No, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but it sure felt like that some days. We've had a very difficult year. My aunt died in January, a dear friend lost her dad 8 days later. Then in early May, my dear mother-in-law went to be with the Lord. It was the most amazing experience I have ever witnessed -- the passing of a Christian woman to her heavenly home. Wow......it will stay with me forever.

We've had a lot of grief to deal with this year, and just last week, Squeeker lost his beloved pet, a beautiful, but hyper yellow lab. I wish I could we are done, but we have at least one more uncle that was recently rediagnosed with cancer. It's been rough..........I don't know what else to say.

In March, I had to go back to work. Since then, I've been able to scale back my hours to three days a week (ok, really half days) Pickles now goes to child care those three days a week -- which absolutely killed me, but she is with a wonderful Christian woman and if I had to send her to day care, this was the absolute best option.

The pics are from the beach -- we are here this week having a really good time. I have to admit, I didn't fully expect to be so tired! Pickles does not like the sand, but Squeeker didn't either at this age.

Disclaimer: the BIG sand castle was not built by Squeeker -- it was built by some grown-ups next to us at the beach the other day. It was too cool not to take a picture of it! Squeeker did built the sand castle with the army men around it!
The shell is real -- Squeeker found that on Monday morning during a long walk on the beach -- isn't it cool????

Pickles is doing amazing -- she's talking and walking all over the place. Tonight, she actually went up to Squeeker and gave him a kiss when I asked her to say night-night to him. It is so amazing to see the relationship between them grow -- it is so obvious that they love one another!

Here is one of Squeeker and Pickles on the balcony...........

And some of Pickles on the beach............gotta love that face -isn't she beautiful?!!! You should see her "work the room" at the breakfast buffet every morning -- she plays peek-a-boo with anyone that will participate!!!!

Robin.. sorry that you all are having such a rough year. I am glad to see that you are taking some family time to just relax and be together. We are here if you need anything at all. We miss seeing you at the get togethers.
